Chelsea progressed to the semi final of the Emirates FA Cup thanks to Ross Barkley second half goal which saw them beat Leicester City 1-0, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A very much goalless entertaining first half saw both sides creating a couple of chances which they failed to convert.
Leicester City had a fair share control of the first half which saw Chelsea doing a lot of defending.
Jamie Vardy went close giving his side the lead but his effort wasn’t good enough to be Caballero.
Tammy Abraham who was starting his first game for Blues since the return from football break also came close scoring.
The first half ended goalless with both teams unable to hit the target despite numerous chances.
Second Half Report
The second half provided much competition as the Blues were able to get a goal thanks to Ross Barkley.
Once again Leicester City dominated a fair amount of the second 45 minutes so as Chelsea.
Willian could have gotten the goal early but his shot was off target after setting himself open to striking on goal.
It definitely was a tough contest between the two sides who sit 3rd and 4th in the league table.
Chelsea finally got their goal in 63rd minute thanks to England international Ross Barkley who struck the ball neatly to make it 1-0.
The goal setup was done by Brazilian playmaker Willian who orchestrated the pass that gives Chelsea the goal.
Chelsea advanced to the semi final of the FA Cup alongside Arsenal and Manchester United who already qualified.
