World heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has recorded his third career defeat in the ring as he suffered a shock defeat to fellow former heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, MySportDab reports.

Ahead of the match, bookmakers gave the bout to Deontay Wilder known for his deadly right hand and strength compared to Parker.

But it turned out the reverse as the two boxing giants filed out in the ring in Saudi Arabia.

Nothing really happened in the first round of the match but Deontay Wilder was on the offensive while Parker stayed on the defensive studying the moves of his opponent.

The same continued in the second and third round before the fight finally came alive in the fourth round with both sides throwing fiery jabs and coordinated punches.

Deontay Wilder was on the rise compared to Parker but he gradually lost ground in the fight as Parker suddenly began to build confidence after a number of missed punches by Wilder.

However, the bout was still on the balance but Joseph Parker was beginning to gradually build confidence and land his own mega punches that turned around the game.

Towards the final rounds, it was obvious Wilder was losing the bout as he struggles to contain Joseph Parkers’ offensives.

The high point of the fight was when Joseph Parker had the better of Wilder having him stuck to the ring and landing a series of perfect punches.

Despite gradually having the bout slip out of his hands, Wilder held on till the final round but Joseph Parker was declared winner by unanimous decision.

The judges scored the fight 118-111, 118-110, and 120-108 in favor of Parker.

With the defeat, Deontay Wilder has reportedly missed out on a multi-million dollar bout with Anthony Joshua worth £100m next year.
