Sergio Ramos Faces Champions League Ban After Real Madrid WIn Over Ajax

Defender Sergio Ramos is facing a potential Champions League Ban after admitting he deliberately received a yellow card during Real Madrid's match against Ajax.

Karim Benzema pub Real Madrid ahead in the second half after a brilliant run by Vinicius Jr but Ajax equalised through Hakim Zivech.

But Marco Asensio secured all three points for the Champions League holders in the 87th minute to make it 2-1.

However, Sergio Ramos received a yellow card, two minutes after the goal, which means he will now miss the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ramos has now risked his one-match ban being extended by admitting after the match that his yellow card was premeditated.

"Looking at the result, I'd be lying if I said I didn't force [the booking]," Ramos said when asked about the offence.

"It is not to underestimate the opponent nor to think that the series is over, but in football you have to make tough decisions."

It is not the first time that Ramos has come under the microscope for allegedly manipulating UEFA's suspension regulations.
