Chelsea and Manchester City have reached agreement for highly-rated Manchester City youngster, Cole Palmer, MySportDab reports.

Chelsea picked interest in the prolific attacking midfielder late in the transfer window as the Blues looked to bolster to club’s attacking options before the close of the transfer window.

Talks was immediately opened with Manchester City for the player as the London club looked to close a deal as soon as possible before the transfer window closes.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have swiftly closed in on signing Palmer as they have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City for the player.

Details of the agreement as revealed by Fabrizio Romano shows Chelsea will pay Manchester City £40m transfer fee for Palmer with £5m add-ons that will take the deal to £45m.

Cole Palmer plays more as an attacking midfielder and a winger and was a late prime target for Chelsea.

Palmer has not enjoyed first team action with Manchester City under Pep Guardiola and has struggled to beat the competition in the ranks of City’s  midfielders.

However, the English youngster has been tipped as a top talent that could join and make a difference in Chelsea’s revamped squad under Mauricio Pochettino.

Palmer adds to the growing list of new signings by Chelsea this season, joining recent additions to the squad such as Deivid Washington, Djordje Petrovic, Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo, and others.

With an agreement in place between the two clubs, Palmer will be going for his Chelsea medical soon as revealed by Fabrizio Romano before signing of contract and official unveiling by the club.
