Chelsea scaled through luckily against Wimbledon beating them 2-1 in the EFL Carabao Cup round two, MySportDab reports.
Enzo Fernandez scored the winning goal of the encounter after coming into the match in the second half of the encounter.
The Blues saw themselves coming from behind to make the game which could have seen them dragged things to penalties.
The game started with the Blues dominating play but never expected how their opponent came out pressing them and defending well.
Chelsea couldn’t make anything happen but had the most of the ball against their opponent who were okay to see themselves struggle to get the ball back.
Wimbledon took the lead in the 19th minutes from the penalty spot which was well converted by James Tilley who was able to make things 0-1 going forward.
It wasn’t an easy task with the Blues battling with and pushing to make a comeback which did not happen from them despite the pressure they put.
Noni Madueke scored in the 45 minutes plus added time from the penalty spot which made sure Chelsea headed for the break with a 1-1 scoreline against Wimbledon.
There was more which came in the second half which the visitors were not so easy against the Blues who had to do more playing and changes.
Chelsea were still struggling to make something happen in the game which was slowly slipping away from their hands against their opponent.
Wimbledon held on hitting the 70th minutes mark with the scoreline still on a draw and nothing to separate them from each other going forward.
Enzo Fernandez finished off from a blizzard moment which enable the Blues took the lead 2-1 in the 72nd minutes of the encounter as they progressed.
Chelsea advanced into the next round beating Wimbledon 2-1 in the EFL Carabao Cup which will see them advance into playing both team in round three.
