Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is a doubt for City ahead of their crunch Champions League quarterfinal clash with Real Madrid, MySportDab reports.
Walker picked up an injury 20 minutes into England’s international friendly defeat to Brazil at Wembley in the March international break.
He had to withdraw from the squad and return to Etihad for treatment and rehabilitation due to the injury.
Walker missed Manchester City’s first match against Arsenal after the international break and is also set to miss the second match – a midweek Premier League clash against Aston Villa tonight.
Worryingly, the England right-back will not just miss the two matches but the much-anticipated Champions League quarterfinal first-leg against Real Madrid.
Pep Guardiola confirmed in his squad update ahead of the Aston Villa clash that Kyle Walker will be unavailable for the team against Aston Villa, including the Real Madrid cracker, as per the club’s doctors.
“The doctors said Kyle Walker will not be fit for the Real Madrid match as he will not be fit for the game. But I know Kyle. He has good genetics and could return for the match,” Guardiola said in Aston Villa’s pre-match press conference.
Walker was key to Manchester City’s historic treble win last season and has played a key role as the club look set to go for the treble again.

He has made 27 Premier League appearances for the club and 5 Champions League appearances. The 33-year-old, who signed a new contract with City, will hope to recover and return to action for the club soon.
Walker makes the list of injured Manchester City stars such as goalkeeper Ederson, defensive duo Nathan Ake, and John Stones, who will all be unavailable for the Aston Villa match.
