Manchester United have been hit with a double injury blow ahead of their crunch Premier League clash against Chelsea, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils, who have grappled with a grinding injury crisis, will miss Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof ahead of the Chelsea clash on April 4, 2022.

The grim injury update is another heavy setback for Lisandro Martinez, who was sidelined for two months with a ligament injury before returning to action against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium at the weekend.

The Argentine sensation came on as a substitute for Lindelof, who was injured in the match.

Now, reports from Manchester United’s medical team have confirmed the pair are going to miss four weeks of action for United this April.

While Lindelof picked up an injury during the Brentford match, Lisandro Martinez reportedly limped off Man United training session on Tuesday ahead of the slated clash with Chelsea.

They are expected to miss action for United for the rest of the month but it is not the end of the season for the duo.

Manchester United will run through three Premier League games in May, including a possible FA Cup final if they see off Coventry City in the semifinals

The pair will reportedly return to action for United in the last lap of the campaign in May.

Martinez and Lindelof’s injury is part of Man United’s crippling injury crisis this season with almost all members of the squad sidelined 42 times this season.

Only two outfield players, Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho, have been spared by the injury plaque that has rocked the team, as per Opta.

The team has struggled with spates of underwhelming performances this season and are teetering on the brink of missing out on Champions League football next season.

They sit 6th on the Premier League table with 48 points from 29 games, 9 points away from Tottenham Hotspur in 5th, and 11 points away from Aston Villa in 4th.
