Christopher Nkunku is now expected to remain on the sideline after confirmation from Chelsea, MySportDab reports.

The France International was expected to kick off a new season with the Blues after an impressive preseason campaign in the United States.

Chelsea have now confirmed that Christopher Nkunku will be staying out for a long period before making his debut.

The France International was injured during the Blues last preseason game against Borussia Dortmund which ended in a 1-1 draw in the United States.

At first it was presumed to be just a minor injury as the Chelsea medical team carried out more research on the issue.

A statement has been waited upon by so many who were also predicting maybe some few weeks out.

Chelsea have now confirmed the extent of Christopher Nkunku injury which is nothing of a good news for the new manager.

Here Is What Was Said:

“Chelsea Football Club has today released the following statement about Christopher Nkunku.

“Nkunku has sustained a knee injury which will rule the forward out for an extended period.

“The 25-year-old has undergone an operation and will now begin a rehabilitation programme with the club’s medical department.

Mauricio Pochettino is now expected to give greenlight on a replacement for the empty space which will extend for a long time.

With Christopher Nkunku missing out, there are now higher chances of Dusan Vlahovic deal happening anytime soon.
