Barcelona made a perfect start to their UEFA Champions League campaign with a dominant 5-1 victory over Feyenoord at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Thanks to Raphinha brace alongside goals from Lamine Yamal and Gabriel Jesus, it was a one way traffic all through the 90 minutes of action.

The Spanish giants were in control from the opening minutes and produced another attacking masterclass under Hansi Flick.

The home side needed only three minutes to break the deadlock. Lamine Yamal delivered a clever pass into the path of Raphinha, who cut inside before firing a left-footed shot beyond the Feyenoord goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

The early goal set the tone for the rest of the match as Barca continued to dominate possession and create chances. They doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute through Karim Adeyemi.

The German forward received the ball on the edge of the area and produced a superb curling effort into the top corner. The goal rewarded the home side attacking pressure and left their opponent struggling to find a way back into the contest.

Despite Feyenoord trying to respond before halftime, Barcelona remained solid at the back and carried a comfortable 2-0 lead into the break.

The Dutch side managed very few opportunities as the hosts controlled the game with over 70 percent possession. The Spanish side continued where they left off after the restart.

In the 57th minute, Pedri produced a brilliant through ball that split the away side defence. Raphinha timed his run perfectly before finishing calmly to score his second goal of the night and extend the lead to 3-0.

The fourth goal arrived in the 77th minute and it was a special moment for Lamine Yamal. The teenage star stepped up to take a free-kick and curled the ball into the net after it found a way through the defensive wall.

It was another impressive display from the young winger, who finished the match with one goal and two assists. The visitors finally found a breakthrough in the 82nd minute.

Gonçalo Borges delivered a dangerous ball into the penalty area and Sem Steijn reacted quickest to score from close range, making it 4-1.

The goal gave the travelling supporters something to celebrate, but it was only a brief interruption to Barcelona’s dominance. The host restored their four-goal advantage just three minutes later.

In the 85th minute, Lamine Yamal produced another excellent cross from the right side and substitute Gabriel Jesus guided a clever header into the back of the net for his first home goal for the club.

The strike completed a convincing 5-1 victory for the Catalan side. It was another massive victory for the Spanish side as they continue to sweep aside opponents this new season.

The result shows Hansi Flick’s side  impressive form at the start of the season. Raphinha scored twice, while Adeyemi, Yamal and Gabriel Jesus also got on the scoresheet.

The team finished with 24 shots and completely controlled the match from start to finish. It was a dominant performance which the Dutch team had no answers or ways of stopping.

Barcelona now move forward with confidence in the Champions League after delivering one of the standout performances of the opening round, while Feyenoord will look to bounce back in their next European fixture.
