Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has donated ₦10 million to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars to celebrate their historic league title win, MySportDab Reports.
The donation, split equally between the players and technical crew, highlights Osimhen’s deep appreciation for domestic football and his support for the local game.
Remo Stars secured their first-ever NPFL crown on Sunday with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes, thanks to an 84th-minute strike from substitute Olamilekan Adedayo. The triumph, coming with three games to spare, marks a significant milestone for the Ikenne-based club.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, personally called the team to offer congratulations, praising their “tenacity” and expressing admiration for their resilience throughout the campaign.
His close relationship with head coach Daniel Ogunmodede, also an assistant coach with the Super Eagles, made the gesture even more heartfelt.
Founded in 2004 as FC Dender and rebranded in 2010, Remo Stars have risen from grassroots football to national prominence. Their 2023–24 title triumph makes them the first privately-owned club to win the NPFL since Julius Berger in 2000 and the first team from southwestern Nigeria to lift the title in 25 years.
The win also coincided with the 59th birthday of club owner Kunle Soname, who also owns Portuguese club C.D. Feirense and is the founder of Bet9ja and ValueJet.
With 21 wins in 35 matches and 68 points — 10 more than second-placed Rivers United — Remo Stars are on course to match the league’s points record.

The victory earns them a spot in next season’s CAF Champions League, a competition no Nigerian team has won since Enyimba in 2004.
While Remo Stars celebrate their historic moment, Osimhen is chasing a quadruple in Turkey, targeting the league title, Turkish Cup, top scorer award, and Player of the Season honours with Galatasaray.
