Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel has been spared any punishment by the Turkish Football Federation’s disciplinary council following an incident during a heated league match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce on March 17, MySportDab Reports.
Tension erupted in the 87th minute of the match when objects were hurled onto the pitch after Michy Batshuayi scored the winning goal for Fenerbahce.
In the ensuing chaos, Osayi-Samuel, a defender for Fenerbahce, found himself in a confrontation with a pitch invader, engaging in a boxing contest.
However, after a disciplinary hearing, Osayi-Samuel was cleared of any wrongdoing, along with Batshuayi. Trabzonspor’s coach Egemen Korkmaz, who was involved in a fight with a rival player, received a one-match ban from the dressing room and bench.
Osayi-Samuel’s teammates Jayden Oosterwolde and Irfan Egribayat were also handed one-match bans for their involvement in altercations with rival fans.

The Turkish Football Federation stated, “Although a referral was made… the elements of the alleged disciplinary violation have not occurred, hence there is no role for punishment for Osayi-Samuel.”
Despite the incident, Osayi-Samuel has been a key player for Fenerbahce this season, making 30 appearances across all competitions and contributing three goals and four assists.
In response to the violence, the TFF disciplinary council has ordered Trabzonspor to play six games behind closed doors and fined the club £75,000.
Currently, Fenerbahce sits second in the Super Lig standings, just two points behind leaders Galatasaray. They are set to face Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Cup final on Sunday, aiming to close the gap and secure a crucial victory in their pursuit of the league title.
