With Mohamed Salah’s exit in the offing, Liverpool could be rocked by another big-name summer exit, with legendary goalie Alisson Becker facing an uncertain future at the Merseyside club.
Since arriving from Roma in 2018, Becker has gone unrivaled between the posts for the Reds, cementing his place in the squad and joining the Reds’ list of legendary goalkeepers such as Ray Clemence, Bruce Grobbelaar, Tommy Lawrence, and Elisha Scott.
However, the Brazilian shotstopper may be coming to the end of his eight-year spell with the Reds this summer – a development Liverpool aren’t ready to watch unfold without a fight.
According to Teamtalk, Serie A giants Juventus have ramped up their attempts to lure Becker to Turin this summer. Talks have reportedly been held with the player’s camp, and a deal expected to be finalized this summer.

Sources close to Becker’s camp have revealed that the 33-year-old isn’t only open to taking up a new challenge away from Liverpool, but has given the nod to a potential switch to Turin.
However, there is a big caveat; with Salah’s exit in the offing, Liverpool are reportedly not ready to lose another big-name player, especially not a player of Becker’s experience and stature.
The Reds are reportedly ready to use everything within their arsenal to stop the move, but are likely to face setbacks with Becker not considering continuing with the club.
Notably, Becker joined Liverpool on an initial six-year contract in 2018. Three years later, he signed a new long-term contract which ran till 2026, with a one-year extension option.
The Brazilian is currently on the extended one-year deal with the Merseyside outfit, expected to expire at the end of next season. However, his exit could be brought forward by one year should Liverpool fail to convince the Brazilian to stay.
According to reports, Liverpool are open to a new short-term extension deal for Becker, but he reportedly wants a longer deal with improved offer – pecks Juventus are reportedly ready to cover.
Also, growing tension and competition for Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeping position has reportedly contributed to this unfolding drama.
Becker played his last game for Liverpool in their 4-0 thrashing of Galatasaray in the Champions League quarterfinals before being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Since then, head coach Arne Slot has opted for Georgian stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who joined from Valencia in summer 2024, as the first-choice goalkeeper.
Interestingly, Slot signaled a potential longer absence for Becker at the wake of the hamstring blow and has been gesticulating towards a reshuffle of the goalkeeping order, but the player indicated on social media early this April that he could be back in action before ending of the month.
All fingers are now crossed on how this drama unfold in the coming weeks. However, whether Becker stays to fight for his place or embrace a new chapter with Juventus will largely depend on how far Liverpool are willing to go to keep him.
