Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed whether Christopher Nkunku will start for Chelsea or not in their match against Preston tomorrow, MySportDab reports.

Chelsea will take on Preston in FA Cup third round clash at Stamford Bridge.

After a lengthy injury layoff, Christopher retuned to Chelsea lineup in the Premier League match against Wolves. He scored on his Premier League debut, and has been phenomenal for the club, making the difference in the club’s attack in his three matches so far.

As the Blues prepare to take on Preston in FA Cup tomorrow, Chelsea fans would hope to have the former RB Leipzig star make the lineup for another terrific performance for the club.

However, all is pointing to the reverse. Mauricio Pochettino has just confirmed Christopher Nkunku will not play the match against Preston.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Pochettino made it clear the attacking midfielder will not start tomorrow as he suffered an issue in the week but will be in the squad.

“Christopher Nkunku is not starting tomorrow as he picked up an issue in the week. But he will be included in the squad,” Pochettino said.

Nkunku has made three appearances for Chelsea after returning from the sidelines and has scored a goal for the club.

Chelsea will hope to see off Preston in the FA Cup clash before traveling to take on Middlesbrough in EFL Cup in three days after the game.

Mauricio Pochettino has not had a groundbreaking start at the Blues’ dugout but is hopeful is turning around the fortunes of the club soon with key players returning from injury.
