In a riveting Week 14 showcase of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Abia United emerged victorious in a pulsating 3-2 win over Shooting Stars, treating fans to a five-goal thriller. Nnochiri Kelechi, Ifeanyi Anaemena, and Samson Obi found the net for Abia United, while Anayor Ogbonna and Kareem Ademola notched goals for Shooting Stars. The high-scoring encounter showcased the intensity and competitiveness of the league.

Remo Stars faced a setback with a 2-1 defeat against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday. Pillars took the lead with Ibrahim Mustapha’s goal early in the second half. Despite a valiant effort from Remo Stars, Dayo Ojo’s equalizer in the 72nd minute was overshadowed by veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali’s decisive goal for Pillars six minutes later. Despite the loss, Remo Stars retained their top position on the league table, showcasing the resilience that defines their campaign.

Lobi Stars secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Doma United at the Lafia City Stadium, marking Doma United’s first defeat in nine league outings. Solomon Oganbor and Suleiman Mojereola found the net for Lobi Stars, with Samuel Enefiok pulling one back for the visitors in the 90th minute. The clash demonstrated Lobi Stars’ ability to disrupt an unbeaten streak and added an element of unpredictability to the league.

Former champions Plateau United delivered an outstanding performance at the New Jos Stadium, overpowering Bayelsa United with a resounding 5-1 victory. Albert Hilary’s hat-trick, along with goals from Silas Nenrot and Izuchukwu Chimezie, showcased Plateau United’s attacking prowess. Ekeson Okorie netted Bayelsa United’s lone goal, but it proved insufficient against Plateau United’s dominance.

Heartland secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Akwa United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, with Chidiebere Ajoku scoring the winner late in the first half. The result underscored Heartland’s ability to grind out important wins, solidifying their position in the league standings.

In other matchups, Rangers claimed a 2-0 victory against Sporting Lagos in Awka, courtesy of goals from Austin Onyemaechi and Kenechukwu Agu. Kwara United and Niger Tornadoes battled to a goalless draw in Ilorin, highlighting the defensive resilience of both teams.

Lobi Stars continued their winning streak with a 2-1 triumph over Doma United, courtesy of goals from Stanley Chukwudi and Suleiman Mojereola, while Samuel Enefiok pulled one back for the visitors in the dying minutes. The victory showcased Lobi Stars’ ability to secure important results in successive fixtures.

The week concluded with Sunshine Stars and Gombe United playing out a 1-1 draw, and Katsina United securing a 1-0 win over Bendel United, courtesy of Ezeh Chidera’s 74th-minute penalty. The diverse outcomes in Week 14 set the stage for an unpredictable and fiercely contested Nigeria Premier Football League season.
