Manchester United have suffered their 9th Premier League defeat this season as they stumble at City Ground against Nottingham Forest, MySportDab reports.
Gary Neville described the Red Devils’ campaign as ‘consistently inconsistent,’ and the subpar performance against the revamped Nottingham Forest side perfectly justified that assertion by the club legend.
It was a shaky start for the Red Devils as they struggled to make a bold presence in the game.
However, they wielded more possession of the ball than their host but struggled to create chances.
Despite playing second fiddle to the visitors, Nottingham Forest gave a good account of themselves when in possession of the ball.
They were deadly on counter and terrorize Man United backline with series of clinical attacking effort.
Both sides could not find the back of the net in the first 45 as they could not break the goal deadlock with a dragging performance.
In the second half, Nottingham Forest finally had the better of Manchester United. Dominquez scored four minutes after the hour mark to give the home side the lead.
United were able to mount a quick response 12 minutes later. Marcus Rashford recorded his third goal this season for Manchester United, scoring to cancel out the lead.
Late in the second half, Morgan Gibbs-White came up clutch for the home side, scoring from Anthony Elanga’s assists to restore the lead.
United made a late push to find an equaliser again without a breakthrough as Nottingham Forest held on to grab a big win over the Red Devils.
United have now recorded their 9th defeat in 20 Premier League games this season, and are 7th on the table with 28 points.
Erik ten Hag will be coming under intense pressure following the loss which shows the team is yet to crawl out of the woods of the difficult start to the season.
