Main man Lionel Messi missed Argentina’s training session on Thursday due to an injury, MySportDab reports. 

However, it is not as serious as people feared so the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner should still be fit for Sunday’s final.

The 35-year-old has impressed at the World Cup and helped his country reach the final of the tournament in Qatar.

There were concerns over his fitness, after Messi was seen holding his hamstring in the closing stages of the match against Croatia.

However, According to Argentine news agency Clarin, the PSG man is perfectly fine and ready to play in the final against France.

Photographers took pictures of Lionel Scaloni’s team as they prepared for their World Cup final match on Sunday, but Messi was not seen.

According to Clarin, Messi was inside the facility doing a recovery session with Papu Gomez, Lautaro Martinez and other players.

Messi has been crucial for Argentina during the World Cup, winning four man of the match awards from the six matches.

He has scored four goals and provided three assists to help his national team reach the final.

Also, Messi recently confirmed that this will be his final World Cup, as he comes closer to retirement.

However, there are still some Injury concerns for Argentina with Gomez’s issue , after he rolled his ankle during the game against Australia.

There are still questions about the fitness of Angel di Maria, currently suffering with a soft tissue injury.

Retired star Sergio Aguero joined the squad at the Qatar University training base today, and helped them prepare for their final.
