Victor Osimhen scored the winning goal as Nigeria came from one down to beat Sierra Leone 2-1, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was a good game which started with both teams equally in the encounter pushing forward in the first few minutes played going forward.
Sierra Leone took an early lead in the 11th minute as Jonathan Morsay headed inside the net from a cross which saw the scoreline turned 0-1 in favor of the away side.
Nigeria wasted no time in scoring the equalizer in the 16th minute thanks to a good teamwork effort as Moses Simon setup Alex Iwobi who finished off to make it 1-1.
It was looking good for the home side as the match continued going forward with more opportunities seen from them as they wanted to score more to make sure they stay in front of the other.
Victor Osimhen gave the Super Eagles the lead in the 41st minutes of the match which was after a cross leading to a header which the Napoli man lobed in to make it 2-1.
That goal was the last action as the first half of the encounter ended with Nigeria taking a 2-1 lead into the break against Sierra Leone after 45 minutes of football played between them.
Second Half Report
The second half wasn’t that bad as both teams did good enough with them looking to make something work out which didn’t all through.
Nigeria maintained their advantage going into the second half which saw them facing a lot from their opponent who didn’t give up easily in their pressure and attacking.
Sierra Leone did everything possible to make them comeback, but it wasn’t enough as the game was slowly slipping away from them as they approached the final 10 minutes.
The game came to an end with Nigeria 2-1 Sierra Leone which meant the Super Eagles kicked off their AFCON qualifiers campaign with an amazing three points.
