English giants Liverpool have agreed a personal terms with Darwin Nunez, MySportDab reports.

The 2021-22 Premier League Runners Up and Champions League finalist have opened talks with Benfica to sign Nunez.

The Reds reportedly have to break their transfer records to land the prolific striker as the search for Sadio Mane replacement continues.

 

Sadio Mane had made it clear to Liverpool that he will no longer be a part of the Reds squad next season.

The former Southampton player still had a year remaining in his contract but has opt out of a possible deal renewal with the Reds.

Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in the player and have submitted two bids which have been rejected by Liverpool.

MySportDab understands that the English giants have entered into talks with the Portuguse club to sign Nunez on Wednesday.

MySportDab learns that the Reds have agreed a personal term with Nunez although there is no agreement yet with Benfica.

Sources close to the Portuguese have revealed that the team will not sell the Uruguay international for anything less than €100million.

The implication is that Liverpool must break their transfer record to bring Nunez to Anfield.

Meanwhile, MySportDab also learns that discussion and negotiation is still ongoing between Liverpool and Benfica over a possible deal.

Benfica are expecting Liverpool to pay €80million with €20 million add-ons if they must sign the player.

Nunez featured 41 times for Benfica and scored 34 goals and Jurgen Klopp believes that the Uruquay international can be a perfect replacement for Sadio Mane.

Nunez joined Bendica from Spanish second division side Almeria for €24million and had been Benfica’s best forward.

Nunez played against Liverpool in a 3-3 Champions League draw and had impressed Jurgen Klopp with his style.
