Cameroon move on to the next round of the AFCON after beating Gambia 0-2 with a brace from Karl Toko Ekambi, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The game started with both countries unable to get control of the first half which was a disaster for them as all they couldn’t make anything happen.
Cameroon had total dominance against their opponent as they pushed from every angle trying to break them down as the match continued with the visitors pushing.
More opportunities were created as the first half progressed with the Gambia luckily escaping going down as they were still yet to make any attempt of their own going forward.
Both team defense continued to make sure they didn’t concede as they pulled off some incredible defending during the game which was looking good for him.
Nothing changed as the first half progressed and finally came to an end with Gambia 0-0 Cameroon which saw them heading inside for the break goalless.
Second Half Report
The second half started differently from the first 45 minutes of the encounter which didn’t provide any goal from both teams.
Gambia were poor in getting anything done but managed to make attempts which didn’t cause any problems as their opponent had everything covered up.
Cameroon took the lead in the 50th minute through a stunner from Karl Toko Ekambi who made sure his opportunity counted for something as the scoreline turned 0-1.
The match carried on with the player making it his brace on the 57th minutes and things turned 0-2 with assistance from Martin Hongla who setup the delivery perfectly.
More opportunities created and nothing could change the scoreline as both teams approached the remaining few minutes left to be played in the game.
The match ended with Gambia 0-2 Cameroon as the host Nation move on to the next round of the AFCON 2022 after a clean victory.
