Barcelona are still struggling to offer Lionel Messi a new contract with clubs already showing interests, MySportDab reports.
The laliga giant are currently facing issues of exceeding salary cap set by the football body in Spain.
Lionel Messi could be snatched from Barcelona this summer if they fail to finalize a new contract for him to remain with the club.
It has been a struggle for them as they haven’t been active in the transfer market with a new deal for their key player the number one priority.
According to Barcelona President Joan Laporta:
“We are working on Messi deal. This haven’t been completely resolved yet, but it’s progressing well. He wants to stay’.
Lionel Messi is currently a free agent as of now, his contract with Barcelona expired last month and he can join any club of his choice.
Manchester City have been strongly linked with a move as Pep Guardiola will be eager to work with him once again like they did in Spain.
Although, the issue will be his wages that is currently being the reason behind Barcelona struggle to offer him one right now.
It doesn’t mean team’s like Manchester City and Chelsea can’t offer him a deal, he is still waiting on Barca to make a decision or he make a move elsewhere.
