Liverpool were beaten 4-3 by Hertha Berlin in their preseason game which saw Sadio Mane making it count when needed, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A four-goal thriller in the first half saw both sides showing some good display of football as they scored more than one each.
Liverpool started the game as the side who had the spotlight on them with Virgil van dijk making his comeback from a long spell of injury.
It was Hertha Berlin who drew first blood as they scored the opener in the 21st minute of the game after Ascacibar converted swiftly to make it 1-0.
The game carried on with Suat Serdar making it 2-0 in the 31st minute as things started going bad for the Premier League side who had to buckle up.
Sadio Mane pulled one back for the Reds in the 36th minute of the match, which gave them a lifeline of getting themselves back into the game with scoreline 2-1.
Takumi Minamino leveled things 2-2 from an outstanding 42nd minutes finish which turned things around with more coming from them.
The first half ended with Hertha Berlin 2-2 Liverpool as they both headed for the break with both sides settling for a draw scoreline.
Second Half Report
It wasn’t a joke in the second half as things got messy with the home side for the game ensured they made light work of the Premier League.
The game was evenly balanced in the early minutes of the second 45 which saw the Reds controlling things with prospect while going forward.
Stevan Jovetic 66th minute goal set the ball rolling in the 2nd 45 minutes as his finish made the scoreline 3-2 as it carried on.
Once again Stevan Jovetic smashed another one inside the net in the 80th minute as the goal put the game far beyond the Premier League side 4-2.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was able to make it count when he had his opportunity in the 88th minute which reduced the lead to 4-3 as the game near it’s end.
The match came to an end with Hertha Berlin 4-3 Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp’s side were dealt with a huge loss in their preseason buildup.
