A brace from Xherdan Shaqiri helped Switzerland claimed a huge 3-1 victory against Turkey as they finished the group stages with 4 points, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half was pretty much amazing from both teams who gave out all their best going forward with the home side getting all the goals.
Haris Seferovic opened the goal scoring in the 6th minutes of the game after a nice buildup of attack saw Steven Zuber setting up the assist to make it 1-0 for Switzerland.
Turkey were very poor going forward as they couldn’t make anything happen with them needing at least a win to keep them in the competition.
Xherdan Shaqiri doubled the lead for his country in the 26th minute after he scored a stunner which was once again assisted by Steven Zuber to make the scoreline 2-0.
The first half ended with Switzerland 2-0 Turkey as they both headed for the break with an advantage over to the home side who were very good.
Second Half Report
The second half was closely matched with both teams finding the back of the net within 45 minutes which wasn’t that bad coming from the Turkish.
Turkey looked promising an better than they were in the first half as they continued to push forward hoping to get something that will bring them back into the match.
Switzerland failed to make things at the back solid as Irfan Kahveci pulled one goal back for the away side in the 62nd minute which saw AC Milan Calhanoglu making to assist to make it 2-1.
The game carried on with more opportunities until Xherdan Shaqiri and Steven Zuber teamed up for another goal which made it 3-1 in the 68th minute.
The match ended with Switzerland 3-1 Turkey as the Swiss finished the game with three points and ending the group stage on 4 points to stand a chance of going into the next round.
