Neymar was down to tears as he suffered a seeming season-ending injury in CONMEBOL 2026 World Cup Qualifiers match against Uruguay, MySportDab reports.

Brazil stumbled to a shock 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday, ending their unbeaten run in the campaign.

Uruguay struck in each half through Darwin Nunez and de La Cruz to condemn the Selecao to their first 2026 World Cup Qualifiers defeat.

Sadly, the South American champions did not have only the defeat to maul over but the injury of their top forward and talisman Neymar Jr.

Just before the first half break, Neymar planted his left foot clumsily on the turf while trying to win the ball and ended up picking what appeared to be a deep limb fracture.

He plunged to the ground and groaned in pains signaling for assistance before Brazil medical staff rush to the scene to attend to him.

It was evident he could not continue with the game and had be subbed off immediately.

The Al Hilal forward was down to tears as the medical staff stretchered him off the field to the locker room for his first aid.

The extent of the injury is still unclear but it appears the football superstar may be set for a long spell on the sidelines that could ruled him out of this season.

Neymar has an history of niggling injury crisis that has mangled his career. He recently returned from a long spell on the sidelines while at PSG before completing the move Saudi Arabia.

As of the time of filing this report, it is still uncertain the extent of damage Neymar has suffered due to the Injury but it is hoped it will not be another career-twisting challenge.
