Manchester United have now opened talks to sign free agent Edinson Cavani or Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic on loan, MySportDab reports.
Jovic has struggled at Real Madrid after his £54.8m transfer in 2019 to the Bernabeu from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Serbia forward has scored only two goals in 18 La Liga matches and is currently second choice behind Karim Benzema.
Some Serie A clubs have already been linked with signing Jovic on loan.
AS Roma, Inter Milan, and AC Milan are interested in a season long loan deal for the 22-year-old.
However, According to Transfer Expert Di Marzio, Manchester United have now started talks with Real Madrid to sign Jovic.
Real Madrid are ready to let Jovic leave the club on loan and want him to get more playing time at his next club.
MySportDab understands that Manchester United want to add more quality up front and they believe Jovic is a great player.
Anthony Martial performed very well last season after the exit of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
But Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood also performed very well out wide last season and that leaves Odion Ighalo as the only backup for Anthony Martial.
Ighalo signed for the Red Devils on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January and will return to the Chinse club in January 2021.
Manchester United are now also in talks to sign free agent Edinson Cavani and have started negotiations with his representatives.
Cavani has been a free agent since he left Paris Saint-Germain after his contract expired at the end of last season.
At PSG, the Uruguayan scored 200 goals in 301 matches across all competitions over a seven-year spell.
In January, Cavani was linked with a move to Chelsea but it failed.
Atletico Madrid want to sign the 33-year-old after bringing in his Uruguay team-mate Luis Suarez from Barcelona.
But, MySportDab sources can confirm that Manchester United have made contact with Cavani’s representatives about a potential transfer.
However, Cavani’s wages demands may become a big problem to sign him before the deadline.
