Fenerbahce produced a stunning comeback to beat Liverpool 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League after 90 minutes of action on Turkey.
The Turkish side came from behind twice at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul in a lively Champions League clash before Vedat Muriqi scored the winning goal in the 79th minute.
Liverpool started confidently and created early openings. Victor Munoz threatened down the right, but his efforts failed to produce a goal as play continued.

Jeremy Jacquet also came close when he headed Dominik Szoboszlai’s cross wide. Rio Ngumoha caused problems on the left as the visitors pressed the home defence.
The reds took the lead in the 25th minute through Trey Nyoni. Szoboszlai’s delivery was headed away by Archie Brown, but the ball fell to Nyoni, who struck it first time into the net.
It was a special moment for the young midfielder, who scored his first senior goal for the reds which immediately turned the scoreline to 1-0.
Fenerbahce responded quickly in the 27th minute, the hosts hit the crossbar with a dangerous effort from a cross. It could have been a goal if the host were lucky in that attempt.
Two minutes later, Mason Greenwood brought them level with a free-kick that took a deflection off Jacquet and went past Alisson Becker. The goal made it 1-1 and lifted the home crowd as play carried on.
Fenerbahce grew into the game and looked dangerous on the counter. Romelu Lukaku helped create an opening for N’Golo Kanté, but the midfielder could not make the most of it.
Greenwood also tested Alisson before half-time, while Ismail Yuksek fired wide. At the other end, Bradley Barcola headed Munoz’s cross narrowly wide. The teams went into the break at 1-1.
Liverpool introduced Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo in the 66th minute. The move quickly paid off for the Premier League team who were struggling before the changes were made.
Three minutes later, Gakpo sent a cross into the box and Alexander Isak, who had just come on, powered a close-range header past Ederson to put the reds ahead 2-1.
However, the visitors failed to protect their advantage despite knowing the threats their opponent possesses. The home team equalised in the 73rd minute after a corner routine.
N’Golo Kante delivered the ball into the area, and Gakpo accidentally flicked it towards the far post. Archie Brown was there to turn the ball into the net and make it 2-2.
The home side completed the comeback six minutes later. Brown delivered a cross from the right, and substitute Vedat Muriqi rose above the away side defence to guide a header beyond Alisson.
The goal gave the host a 3-2 lead with little time left for their opponent to make a comeback. Liverpool searched for another equaliser, but their late efforts were not enough.
Virgil van Dijk had a header saved by Ederson, while a late attempt from distance by Matteo Guendouzi went wide after Alisson had been drawn out of his goal. Van Dijk also failed to hit the target with another late effort.

Alexis Mac Allister was booked in the 85th minute for bringing down Kerem Aktürkoğlu as play continued between both teams.
Fenerbache finished the match claiming a shocking 3-2 victory against Liverpool after 90 minutes of action which could have seen the result go anywhere.
The 3-2 defeat ended the Premier League side perfect start in this competition and raised fresh questions about their defending. The Reds had possession and attacking moments, but were punished for failing to deal with crosses and second balls inside their penalty area.
The victory was a major result for the home team in front of their supporters. They showed belief after falling behind twice and made their chances count.
Brown played a key role with a goal and the assist for Muriqi, while Mason Greenwood also made an important contribution to strike down the Premier League team.
Liverpool must now respond quickly in their upcoming games after this loss, while Fenerbahce can take confidence from a comeback victory and hope to build on it going forward.
