Brazil have confirmed the situation of Neymar’s injury ahead of a crucial round of 16 clash against South Korea, MySportDab reports.

Neymar picked up an ankle in Brazil’s opening group game in the World Cup against Serbia and was ruled out of Brazil’s second and last group game

While they lost to the Cameroonians, the team had already qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup after two straight wins.

Meanwhile, Neymar was forced off the opening game and missed the second against Switzerland.

It was confirmed that he will be ruled out of the group stages of the tournament following the injury and will possibly return to the team for the round of 16.

Brazil have qualified for the round of 16 and will face South Korea, who peeped Uruguay to the round of 16 after a stoppage-time winner against Portugal.

According to Brazil’s head coach, Tito, Neymar is set to return to the team and will feature in the round of 16 clash against South Korea.

Speaking today, Tito said;

Regarding Neymar he’s going to practice this afternoon and if he is OK, he will play tomorrow. I don’t share any information that is not true. My answer is he will practice this afternoon, if everything goes well, he will play.”

The 30-year-old forward trained with his team-mates on Saturday after he suffered the ankle injury in the win against Serbia

The news of Neymar’s return is a great boost for the Brazil national team after Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus picked up a knee injury and has been ruled out of the tournament.
