Real Madrid CF have confirmed they have provided “all available evidence” to UEFA as the governing body investigates allegations of racism made by forward Vinícius Júnior, MySportDab Reports.
The Brazilian international reported alleged racial abuse during Tuesday’s Champions League knockout round play-off clash against SL Benfica in Lisbon.
Vinícius claimed he informed referee Francois Letexier of comments directed at him by Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni.

UEFA opened a disciplinary investigation on Wednesday, prompting a formal response from the Spanish giants.
“Real Madrid CF announces that it has today provided UEFA with all available evidence regarding the incidents that occurred,” the club said in a statement. “Our club has actively co-operated with the investigation opened by UEFA following the unacceptable episodes of racism experienced during that match.”
The game was temporarily halted for 10 minutes in accordance with UEFA’s anti-racism protocol after Vinícius alleged abuse following his goal celebration.
He completed the match but later took to social media, describing racists as “cowards” and questioning the effectiveness of the matchday protocol.
Prestianni has denied making any racist remarks, while Benfica criticised what they called a “smear campaign” against their player.
Head coach Jose Mourinho also faced backlash after suggesting he did not believe either version of events and stating that “something happens, always” in matches involving Vinícius.

Anti-discrimination charity Kick It Out condemned Mourinho’s comments, describing them as “gaslighting.”
Real Madrid reiterated their commitment to combating racism, pledging to continue working with institutions to eradicate discrimination from football and society.
