It will be a clash of European champions as Champions League title holders PSG welcome Europa League champions Tottenham Hotspur to Parc des Princes in Champions League round five fixture tonight, MySportDab reports.

It’s the second time the two teams will clash this season after their UEFA Super Cup encounter in August. Tottenham nearly came away with a shock win in that match, before surrendering a two-goal lead and ultimately losing 3-2 via penalties.

Thomas Frank had a relatively good grasp of proceedings in that game, but may struggle this time around taking on the reigning European champions in their home ground in Paris.

The Londoners demolished FC Copenhagen 4-0 in their last Champions League outing, but fell 4-1 to Arsenal in the North London Derby at the weekend. They are 12th in the Champions League standings with two wins and two draws and will look to strengthen their chances of finishing in the qualification spots for the knockout stages with a strong showing tonight.

PSG failed to maintain their winning momentum in the Champions League as they fell to a shock 2-1 home defeat to 10-man Bayern Munich in their last outing. They are seventh in the standings with nine points, three behind joint-table-toppers Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Inter Milan.

Luis Enrique’s charges will enter this match brimming with confidence, having won their last two matches (both domestic league fixtures) after the Bayern defeat. This includes a commanding 3-0 victory over Le Havre at the weekend. They have also won their previous two games against Tottenham Hotspur.

Team News and Prediction

Achraf Hakimi is still sidelined and is unavailable for this match after picking up an injury from Luis Diaz’s wild tackle during the Bayern Munich clash. Attacking duo Desire Doue (hamstring) and Ousmane Dembele (knee) are doubts for the game.

Tottenham Hotspur will miss key attacker Brennan Johnson who remains suspended for his red card against FC Copenhagen.

The Lilywhites are grappling with a piling injury crisis. Radu Dragusen (ACL), Dejan Kulusevski (knee), Yves Bissouma (ankle), and James Maddison (ACL) are all sidelined and will miss the match.

Prediction

Tottenham gave PSG a tough run when they last met in the UEFA Super Cup. However, this will be a different ball for Thomas Frank’s side at the intimidating Parc des Princes. PSG will look to return to winning ways and avoid consecutive home defeats in the elite club competition in Europe. We are backing them to win.
