New signing Savinho was on target on his debut as Tottenham claimed a massive 5-1 victory against Charlton Athletic in the EFL Carabao Cup match.

Spurs booked their place in the next round of the Carabao Cup with an impressive victory over Charlton Athletic at home.

After suffering a heavy defeat against Brentford in the Premier League, Roberto De Zerbi’s side responded in perfect fashion with a commanding performance that saw them control the game from start to finish.

The first half was largely dominated by Tottenham, but Charlton managed to do an impressive job of keeping the score level until the closing stages of the first half.

Spurs finally found the breakthrough in the 41st minute when highly-rated youngster Mikey Moore finished a well-worked move after being set up by Rodrigo Bentancur.

The goal rewarded the London side early pressure and gave the home supporters something to celebrate with things staying 1-0 as they pushed on.

Spurs doubled their advantage deep into first-half stoppage time. In the 45+2nd minute, Dominic Solanke was in the right position to finish from close range following good work from Moore.

The goal ensured Spurs went into the halftime break with a comfortable 2-0 lead after controlling possession and creating the better chances throughout the opening 45 minutes.

Charlton tried to improve after the restart, but their opponent continued to dominate the contest. The home side extended their lead in the 67th minute when defender Kevin Danso powered home a header from a set-piece delivery.

The goal effectively ended any hopes of a Charlton comeback and highlighted Tottenham’s strength from dead-ball situations throughout the evening.

One of the biggest talking points of the match was the debut of Brazilian winger Savinho. The summer signing entered the game in the second half and immediately showed why Tottenham invested heavily in him.

His pace, dribbling, and attacking movement caused problems for Charlton’s defence. In the 82nd minute, Savinho marked his debut with a goal, finishing confidently after being set up by Archie Gray.

It was a dream start to life in a Spurs shirt and one that excited the supporters. The goal made the scoreline 4-0.

Tottenham were not finished there. Just three minutes later, in the 85th minute, captain Ben Davies added a fifth goal for the hosts.

The defender found the net following another dangerous set-piece delivery, putting the result beyond any doubt and capping off a dominant display from the Premier League side.

Despite being outplayed for most of the game, Charlton continued to fight and eventually found a consolation goal for their fans to celebrate.

In the 87th minute, Lloyd Jones rose highest to head home from a Joe Rankin-Costello corner. While the goal made the scoreline slightly more respectable, it did little to change the outcome of a match that Tottenham had controlled for long periods.

The match finished with Tottenham claiming a massive 5-1 victory against Charlton Athletic, as they booked their place in the next round of the EFL Carabao Cup.

Mikey Moore was undoubtedly one of the standout performers on the night. The teenager scored the opening goal and provided the assist for Solanke’s strike, playing a key role in Spurs attacking success.

His energy, movement, and creativity caused problems for Charlton throughout the match and earned praise from fans and pundits alike.

Spurs enjoyed the majority of possession, created numerous chances, and regularly pushed the visitors back into their own half. Their attacking intensity and effectiveness from set pieces proved too much for the visitors to handle.

In the end, Tottenham’s 5-1 victory was fully deserved. The result gives Spurs confidence heading into their upcoming fixtures and provides a strong response after their recent league disappointment.
