Six Teams To Watch In The NFL This Season

Excitement is growing around what promises to be another NFL season filled with drama. With various changes occurring during the offseason, it will be just as competitive as other major sporting competitions, such as the Premier League or the Africa Cup of Nations. However, some teams are probably worth watching ahead of the rest.

After all, for people discovering this growing sport, watching the finest teams in action is a natural preference. For example, when assessing the aforementioned Premier League, for newcomers to the sport, watching West Ham or Burnley – two teams who are currently struggling – is hardly the best advert for the competition.
The same applies in the NFL, with fans generally opting to watch the most formidable units out on the field. These teams have an abundance of quality within their ranks; they’re usually up there come the end of the season and are featured in the latest NFL playoff odds, and their fans are expecting big things. So, without further ado, below is a brief look at six teams to watch in the NFL this season.

Philadelphia Eagles
After triumphing in the Super Bowl last time around and getting their hands on the sport’s most prestigious prize, the Philadelphia Eagles are the team to beat. While they could potentially go backwards after losing five starters on defense, it’s probably unlikely. The Eagles are, therefore, a team to fear. Should they keep everyone fit and healthy, and the likes of Jalen Hurts get into an early rhythm, then the Eagles will be right up there once again.
Baltimore Ravens
With one of the league’s deepest rosters at their disposal, the Baltimore Ravens appear to be more prepared than most for the season ahead. Lamar Jackson is undoubtedly their star man, with his influence being evident. In fact, in the four campaigns where the team’s star quarterbackhas started more than 12 regular-season games, the Ravens have averaged a solid 12.5 wins. Jackson is crucial to their chances of success, although competition is fierce, especially when assessing their tricky opening schedule.
Washington Commanders
Another NFL franchise worth witnessing in action in the season ahead is the Washington Commanders, particularly after they’ve improved their defensive line. Health issues and injuries have hindered their offseason at times, but when they’re all fit and firing, a team containing Jayden Daniels is always worth watching.
Buffalo Bills
Many fans and experts alike fancy the Buffalo Bills to have a memorable campaign. After averaging 12.2 wins over five straight AFC East championship seasons, they’re likely to do something similar this campaign. The Bills should make the playoffs quite easily, although nothing is guaranteed in football. Still, with their respective division looking a tad weaker this season, should the Bills sort out their defense, then it could be their time.
Kansas City Chiefs
Another franchise expected to put on numerous shows this season is the Kansas City Chiefs, with this dangerous outfit aiming to outdo last year’s impressive 15-2 season. The Chiefs might’ve had  their bid for a two-year “three-peat” ended last season, but they’re more than capable of reigning supreme this campaign. Should Patrick Mahomes start turning it on early in the season, then the Chiefs could build up some serious momentum as they aim to record a special season.
Detroit Lions
With an impressive roster to rely on, the Detroit Lions are another NFL team worth keeping tabs on this season. The Lions have lost a number of key ingredients recently, although the return of Aidan Hutchinson should massively benefit their defense and, therefore, the team as a whole.
