Leicester City have announced Ruud Van Nistelroy as the club’s new manager, MySportDab reports.
In a statement on the club’s website, the Foxes confirmed the former Man United assistant boss as the new manager.
Ruud Van Nistelroy’s spell with Leicester City will be his third stop on his managerial career. The Man United legend began his managerial career with PSV Eindhoven before joining former Man United manager Erik ten Hag’s back-room staff as assistant manager.
He led PSV Eindhoven to Dutch Cup before leaving his role as the club’s manager after one year citing incongruencies with the club’s hierarchy.
From PSV Eindhoven, Van Nistelroy joined Erik ten Hag’s coaching crew and ascended to first team manager on interim capacity after the former was sacked.
He created instant impact, leading the club to three wins and a draw in four matches before leaving the reins following the arrival of Ruben Amorim as new manager.
His impressive outing with the Red Devils despite his short stint attracted interests from other English clubs.
Championship side Coventry City were among clubs interested in the services of the United legend before Leicester City ramped attempts to have him take over the Foxes’ dugout.
Van Nistelroy will replace former Leicester City manager Steve Cooper who was sacked following a poor run of form in the English top flight this season.
He has penned down a three-year contract with the club till 2027 and will hope to the hit the ground running with an impressive start.
