Arsenal’s injury crisis this season has deepened with prolific winger Bukayo Saka joining the Gunners’ piling list of injured players, MySportDab reports.

The England forward was forced off in the 87th during the team’s 1-0 win over London neighbors Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby on September 15, 2024.

He was replaced by Arsenal academy star Ethan Nwaneri after it was evident he couldn’t continue with the match.

At the time of this report, Arsenal have yet to confirm update on the injury but Saka looked distraught as he limped off the field with apparently an ankle issue.

The 23-year-old’s injury blow is coming at the back of a grinding injury crisis in the Arsenal squad with a host of key first team players grappling with injuries.

The Gunners went into the North London Derby with the likes of Martin Odegaard, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ricardo Calafiori, and Mikel Merino all sidelined.

Odegaard picked up an gruesome ankle injury while on international duties with Norway while Mikel Merino, who has yet to make his Arsenal debut, is grappling with shoulder injury.

Ricardo Calafiori picked up a calf issue while in action for Italy against France during UEFA Nations League clash against France.

With the piling injury crisis, Arsenal will be hoping to have the England star return to fitness ahead of the team’s midweek Champions League clash against Atalanta and weekend Premier League fixture against Manchester City at the weekend

Gabriel Magalhaes’ header from Saka’s corner was the difference as Arsenal weather the injury crisis and saw off Tottenham Hotspur with a narrow 1-0 victory.
