Chelsea are hoping to keep their unbeaten record intact when they face Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge today, MySportDab reports.

Some days before, Chelsea played against Barnsley in the FA Cup.

Now, Coach Thomas Tuchel is likely to rest several players who played in the FA Cup win.

Chelsea Team News

Goalkeeper – Mendy

Mendy will return to the Starting XI against Newcastle after Kepa Arrizabalaga was used against Barnsley.

Defence – Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Thiago Silva is unavailable for the Newcastle match due to injury.

“For Thiago, we are looking at the Southampton match.”

Kurt Zouma played full 90 minutes against Barnsley but he’s unlikely to start today.

Midfield – Alonso, James, Kante, Kovacic

Callum Hudson-Odoi has impressed everyone since he was used by Tuchel as a right wing-back in his first two games.

Hudson-Odoi played 90 minutes of football against Barnsley, and James played only 45 minutes which makes it likely Hudson-Odoi won’t start today.

Marcos Alonso could also return to the Starting XI ahead of Ben Chilwell.

N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic can play together in midfield.

Attack – Mount, Giroud, Werner

Mason Mount has showed his importance at Chelsea in recent weeks with his impressive performances.

Tammy Abraham may be dropped and replaced by Olivier Giroud for today’s match.

Timo Werner will also play in the attack alongside Giroud, and Mount.

Chelsea Likely XI Vs Newcastle: Mendy, James, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Chilwell, Kante, Kovacic, Werner, Mount, Giroud.
