Manchester United have lined up a move for Wolves top midfielder to replace Casemiro in the summer, MySportDab reports.

His dwindling fortunes at Old Trafford coupled with a humongous weekly pay check has made Casemiro face an uncertain future at Old Trafford with Man United’s frugal new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe now helming affairs in the sporting and footballing operations at the club.

The former Real Madrid star is set to be affected by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures to be implemented across board from the playing and non-playing staff.

With Casemiro’s Man United future on the balance, Manchester United are reportedly making plans to replace the Brazilian DM with Wolves star Joao Gomes .

According to the Mirror, Manchester United have been monitoring Joao Gomes for a potential summer swoop and have sent scout to study the player.

The 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder has been prolific for Wolves since joining from Flamengo in 2023. He has made 23 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 2 goals with one assist.

Joao Gomes is contracted to Wolves until 2028 with 2029 option. He joined the club for 12m. Sources close to the club reveal Wolves are open to Joao Gomes’ exit but only on a reasonable offer.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to splash as much as £40m on the Joao Gomes – £28m more than what Wolves paid for the player a year ago.
