Arsenal and England prolific winger Bukayo Saka has withdrawn from England’s 25-man squad for March international break, MySportDab reports.

England national team statement confirmed the withdrawal of the 22-year-old as a precaution against injury.

The statement adds Bukayo Saka could not partake in training due to the injury, hence his decision to withdraw and return back to Arsenal for rehabilitation.

Saka, who has been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, has been instrumental to Arsenal’s push for the Premier League title this season. He leads the Gunners’ goalscoring chart this season with 13 Premier League goals.

An injury blow to the player would be a major setback to Arsenal’s push for the Premier League title this season with the league entering the crucial stages.

Arsenal will hope to have the youngster recover in time to take his place in the Gunners attacking berth as they wage battle against Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title.

Notably, Saka’s injury is coming more of a shock as he played the full 90 minutes in Arsenal’s last Premier League game against Brentford before the international break.

As of the time of filing this report, the nature of his injury is yet to be revealed with the player facing a race against time to return to full fitness ahead of Arsenal’s crucial tie against title-challengers Manchester City after the international break.

Meanwhile, England will take on Brazil on March 23 and Belgium on March 26 in their double-header friendlies during the break.

Despite missing Saka due to injury, the Three Lions squad still adds up to the 25-man squad originally slated to prosecute the friendlies due to the promotion of Man United youngster Kobbie Mainoo to the senior setup.

No replacement will be called for Saka as confirmed by England statement.
