Harry Kane’s history-making day at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor against Darmstadt was marred with a gruesome injury blow that has left Bayern Munich and England national team on their frays, MySportDab reports.

With barely 10 minutes left to play, Kane had attempted to follow up a brilliant goal attempt which ricocheted against the crossbar and bounced outwards.

Kane could not continue with the game after being treated on the field and had to be subbed off as he hobbled off.

The injury scare has already sent Bayern Munich and England national to the frays with Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund confirming Kane’s injury will be delicately handled to prevent complications, hence he may not be allowed to join the England squad for March international friendlies.

“We hope it is not that bad. It was a precautionary measure that he went out. Harry twisted his ankle and the area had to be cooled. He won’t take any risks with the national team,” Freund said.

Harry Kane was named in Gareth Southgate’s 25-man squad for March international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium but could now pull out of the squad due to the injury.

However, the state of the injury and extent of damage done is yet to be ascertained, and the diagnosis result will determine whether he will be allowed to join the Three Lions squad for the upcoming friendlies or not.

Kane’s injury blow marred his record-breaking feat in the match. After netting the second of the five goals hurled in by the Bavarians over Darmstadt, he broke a 60-year-old record, becoming the first debutant in the German topflight to score a record 31 Bundesliga goals.
