Man United In SHOCK Move For “2022 World Cup Winner” After Casemiro Blow

Manchester United have began the search for a replacement for injured midfielder Casemiro with a prolific “World Cup winner” on thre clubs shortlist, MySportDab reports.

United lost Casemiro to a harmstring issue in the EFL Cup clash against Newcastle United.

Erik ten Hag subbed off the Brazil midfield sensation in the second half of the game with Sofyan Amrabat coming on.

Speaking in post-match press conference, ten Hag confirmed he subbed off Casemiro because of a unknown injury.

A day after the match, United confirmed in a club a statement Casemiro will be ruled out of action for a harmstring issue and will miss “several weeks” of action.

According to reports, Casemiro will miss the remaining Man United fixtures for 2023 with his return date fixed for early 2024.

Following the devastating injury blow, Manchester United have began the search for his replacement, as per reports from The Sun.

The Red Devils are reportedly eyeing a move for 2022 World Cup winner and Argentina international Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, 29, was part of Argentina 2022 World Cup winning squad and plies his trade with La Liga side Real Betis.

Erik ten Hag is said to a great admirer of Rodriguez and has fancied the Argentine’s skillful and spectacular holding capacity in the midfield.

Rodriguez is ranked among the top 6 La Liga midfielders and is known for his energetic footballing style touched with great creativity.

Rodriguez will be Erik ten Hag’s 14th signing at Manchester United should the club club seal a deal for the player.

United are reportedly not ready to push for a January move for Rodriguez but are hoping to seal a deal in the summer.

Rodriguez will run out of his Real Betis contract at the end of this season and will be free to enter contract talks with other clubs in January.
