Ansu Fati turned down chances of joining Liverpool and Tottenham to pit tents with Brighton in the Premier League, MySportDab reports

In what could be described as a big catch for the Seagulls, the club have taken to their social media handle to announce the signing of the prolific attacking midfielder.

Ansu Fati opted for Barcelona exit after struggling for minutes under Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona.

The La Masia graduate, who was tipped as one of the fast-rising and exciting young talents to grace the game, did not start any match for Barcelona this season.

He has been used mostly as a substitute by Xavi Hernandez with the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal getting the nod ahead of him in Barcelona first eleven.

According to reports, Ansu Fati was previously ready to fight for his place at Barcelona but finally decided to leave after his dwindling fortunes at the club shows no sign of abating.

A number of top clubs in Europe and in the Premier League were milling around the player to sign him with Liverpool and Tottenham among clubs who indicated interest, including Brighton.

Fati reportedly opted for a move to Brighton, turning down advances by bigger clubs as he wanted more playing time at his next destination.

Brighton reached agreement with Barcelona for a loan deal for the youngster till 2024.

There is no buy option attached to the deal as Xavi Hernandez still considers Ansu Fati key to his Barcelona squad plans.

Based on terms of the loan structure, Ansu Fati will emerge as Brighton highest-paid player as the club have agreed to foot 80% of his Barcelona wages  which amounts to £160K as weekly wage.
