Both Anthony Elanga and Wissa scored as Newcastle United claimed an impressive 2-0 victory against Tottenham away from home to claim all three points.
The result handed the Magpies their first Premier League win of the season, while Spurs suffered a second straight league defeat, with their season not looking good.
Tottenham started the match brightly and controlled much of the first half. Roberto De Zerbi’s side created several opportunities through Pedro Porro, Mathys Tel, and Omar Marmoush, but they were unable to find the breakthrough.

The home side looked more aggressive than they did in their opening-day defeat, yet their finishing once again let them down.
Newcastle struggled to establish themselves early in the game but remained organized defensively. Goalkeeper Lukas Horcinez and the backline stood firm under pressure as Spurs pushed forward in search of an opening goal.
Despite Tottenham’s dominance, the score remained goalless at halftime. The match changed after the break as Newcastle began to find more space on the counterattack.
Their breakthrough arrived in the 64th minute when new signing Nico Gonzalez produced a brilliant diagonal pass to find Amar Dedic on the right flank.
Dedic intelligently headed the ball into the path of Anthony Elanga, who finished confidently to give Newcastle a 1-0 lead. The goal rewarded the Magpies improved second-half performance and silenced the home crowd.
Spurs attempted to respond immediately and continued to enjoy possession, but they lacked quality in the final third. A promising free-kick opportunity for Mathys Tel failed to trouble the Newcastle goalkeeper as play carried on.
The Magpie’s remained compact and looked dangerous whenever they broke forward. They sealed all three points in the 73rd minute, after netting another goal in the encounter.
Following a corner kick, the ball was headed back across goal and Yoane Wissa reacted quickest inside the penalty area. The striker produced an excellent acrobatic finish to send the ball past the goalkeeper and double Newcastle’s advantage.
The goal effectively ended Tottenham’s hopes of a comeback and sparked celebrations among the travelling supporters who knew all three points was done and dusted.

One of the standout performers for Newcastle was Nico Gonzalez. The Spanish midfielder impressed on his debut, dictating play from deep and playing a key role in the build-up to the opening goal.
His passing range and composure gave the away side an extra dimension in midfield and he was widely praised after the final whistle. The match ended with a convincing victory for Newcastle United 2-0 against Tottenham.
This result will raise fresh concerns despite some encouraging moments and performance from the Tottenham side. Spurs have now lost their opening two Premier League matches and are yet to score a league goal this season.
While there were signs of improvement compared to their previous outing, the lack of clinical finishing remains a major issue for De Zerbi and his squad.
Manager Matthias Jaissle will be delighted with the character shown by his players. After absorbing pressure for long periods, the Magpies produced a professional second-half display and took their chances when they arrived.
The victory moves Newcastle up the table with four points from two games, while Tottenham is a different story as they currently occupy bottom position with no point or goal.
