Atletico Madrid smashed Manchester City 1-2 in a pre-season friendly encounter, MySportDab reports.

Memphis Depay made it count for the Spanish side who were able to make light work of the Champions of Europe.

Pep Guardiola’s side ended their campaign in the preseason with a loss which they will hope to improve in their community shield match.

The first half of the match was good coming from both teams pushing forward in the friendly encounter.

Manchester City started with their regular players including Erling Haaland leading the attack which was troublesome in the 45 minutes.

Atletico Madrid had enough quality on the pitch to make sure they were not overshadowed by what the Premier League side have to offer.

The goal refused to come despite the attempts made by both teams for the encounter which was either defended well or going out of play.

Manchester City Vs Atletico Madrid ended with a goalless 0-0 scoreline after 45 minutes of football which was played between the both of them.

The second half started well with so much coming from them as they pushed forward hoping to alter the scoreline between themselves.

Memphis Depay gave Atletico Madrid the lead in the 66th minute of the game after an outstanding display saw the Netherland International making it count 0-1.

Manchester City held on fine until they conceded another goal in the 74th minutes of the match which was this time scored by Yannick Carrasco to make it 0-2.

The Champions of Europe pulled one goal back in the 86th minutes through a stunner from Ruben Dias which was able to make things 1-2 as they both carried on going forward.

Atletico Madrid ended the match with a 1-2 victory against Manchester City which was a good result by the Laliga side who were more in control.
