Chelsea have terminated the contract of Cesar Azpilicueta at the club, MySportDab reports.

The Chelsea captain is set to leave the club this summer after 11 years.

Cesar Azpilicueta has a year remaining in his Chelsea contract but sources close to the club revealed the Blues were ready to let him leave this summer.

Azpilicueta is a highly respected player at Chelsea having been at the club for eleven years as the longest-serving Chelsea player on a free transfer.

The move to terminate his contract became necessary as Chelsea had to aid his move away from the club this summer.

Cesar Azpilicueta will be moving to his next club as a free agent following the decision to terminate his contract.

Fabrizio Romano confirms the decision to end his contract and allow him leave for free this season has already been communicated to Cesar Azpilicueta’s camp.

The report adds Cesar Azpilicueta has already sealed a move to Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

He will be flying the colors of the Spanish club next season and will be unveiled very soon.

Cesar Azpilicueta’s move to Atletico Madrid could be seen as the last lap of his legendary career after a heroic campaign with Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Spaniard made 350 Premier League appearances for Chelsea in his eleven years at the club, scoring 10 goals.

He has won the Premier League and Europa League two times, including the Champions League, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Cesar Azpilicueta will be the 8th player to make Chelsea’s piling list of exits this summer.
