Manchester United have confirmed Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane injury update, MySportDab reports.

Lisandro Martinez was injured in Manchester United’s dramatic 2-2 draw with Sevilla in Europa League quarterfinal first leg at Old Trafford.

The Argentina World Cup winner was helped off the pitch to the stretcher by two Sevilla players and Argentina teammates after he could not continue with the game.

His injury came as big blow to the Red Devils who also missed Raphael Varane to injury during the game.

There were concerns Lisandro Martinez has picked up Achilles problem but Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag debunk claims of Achilles problem.

Erik Ten Hag however, added Lisandro Martinez will be ruled out of Manchester United’s next Premier League game in Sunday due to the injury but the club were still awaiting a medical examination of the extent of the injury.

Now, Manchester United have confirmed Lisandro Martinez’s injury update.

The club confirmed in an official statement that Lisandro Martinez has been ruled of the rest of the season due to an a fracture of the metatarsal bone.

A statement on the club’s official website reads;

“Lisandro Martinez has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after fracturing a metatarsal bone in his foot.”

The club statement also adds Raphael Varane will miss some games for a number of weeks due to his injury but it was not yet confirmed when he will return to the club.

As for Lisandro Martinez, he has been ruled out of the rest of the season in what will be a blow to his Man United career this season.

Lisandro Martinez made 45 appearances for Manchester United this season.
