Alejandro Garnacho U-20 World Cup decision has been confirmed, MySportDab reports.

The Manchester United youngster has been at the center of a row between Manchester United and Argentina U-20 national team led by former Manchester City player Zabaleta.

Zabaleta is hopeful Alejandro Garnacho will recover fast from his injury and feature for Argentina U-20 national team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup which kicks off on May 20 in Argentina.

Manchester United have reportedly been belligerent on their stand they will not want the player to join the tournament as the youngster is just recovering from injury.

The Red Devils have a crunch FA Cup final tie against Manchester City on June 3 and by projection Garnacho was expected to recover fully and feature in the game.

By then, the tournament will be entering the knockout round and if Argentina qualify for the knockouts, then the services of the 18-year-old will be needed and he has to be included in the squad list by Zabaleta.

Amid the row between Manchester United and Argentina U-20 national team, reports from Argentina have confirmed Garnacho wants to play in the U-20 World Cup for Argentina.

According to the Sun, Argentina top sports journalist Damian Villagra confirmed Garnacho’s decision via a tweet which reads;

“Alejandro Garnacho’s decision is to come and play the World Cup for the Argentina National Team.”

Garnacho picked up an ankle in injury and has been sidelined since March.

His decision to play for the national U-20 team will come as a major blow to Manchester United’s plan to have him before the crunch Manchester Derby FA Cup final at Wembley.

However, Manchester United and Argentina U-20 national team are yet to issue a statement to the effect of the decision.
