Manchester United have confirmed an injury blow to Marcel Sabitzer, MySportDab reports.

Marcel Sabitzer was included in Austria’s Euros 2024 qualifiers squad in the international break.

Now, according to a report shared by the club on their social media handle, Marcel Sabitzer has been confirmed injured.

Austria head coach and former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick disclosed Marcel Sabitzer’s injury status in a match press conference.

Rangnick said;

In the end, it is a question of pain and pain tolerance for both Marcel and Gernot,

“Of course, we hope that Marcel will do well, especially after that first game in Linz.

He bagged a brace and also assisted a goal before he was withdrawn by Ralf Rangnick towards the end of the game.

Ralf Rangnick revealed Marcel Sabitzer had picked up a knock during training session and was forced out.

He, however, manage to play against Azerbaijan before being withdrawn towards the end of the game.

The news of Marcel Sabitzer’s injury is come as a huge blow to Manchester United who are missing Casemiro to a four-match ban.

Marcel Sabitzer has been clinical since stepping in to replace Casemiro in the squad.

He scored in Manchester United’s FA Cup win Fulham – his first goal since joining the club as a Bayern Munich loanee.
