Qatar have now officially submitted their first bid to buy Manchester United from the Glazers, MySportDab reports.

A chairman of one of Qatar’s biggest banks submitted a bid for Manchester United on Friday night, and promised to restore glory days.

Before the 10pm deadline for offers, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jaber Al Thani announced plans to acquire ‘100 per cent of the club’.

A more accurate figure of the bid submitted will be announced soon once the financials have been examined properly.

MySportDab understands that there was optimism inside Old Trafford due to the statement yesterday night.

The approach to spending will be significant and fans want this exactly for the team.

In a bold statement, Al Thani said he would invest in every area of the club.

‘The bid is to restore Manchester United Football Club for footballing excellence as the greatest football club in the world,’ he added.

The battle for the Premier League club has now entered a critical stage as fans watch on.

However, Qatar are likely to face serious opposition from bidders in the US, Asia and maybe Saudi Arabia.

Britain’s richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe has also submitted a bid for the club.

If Qatar are successful, Coach Erik Ten Hag would be given a massive huge transfer budget, but still place a big focus on the youth system.

There would also be investment in the surrounding area of Old Trafford should the offer be successful.

The bids will now be narrowed down into serious contenders ahead of a sale likely to be completed next month.

Al Thani’s statement read: ‘The bid plans to return Manchester United to its glory days, and will place the fans at the heart of Manchester United once more.

‘The bid is fully debt free via Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation, and will also invest in the football teams, training centre, stadium and more.

‘Our vision is for Manchester United Football Club to be renowned for footballing excellence, and become the greatest club in the world.’

The saga is a sale is now being discussed in the Old Trafford dressing room, as Erik ten Hag confirmed that he and his players are following the situation.
