Erik ten Hag has now revealed that Manchester United could become contenders for the Premier League title this season, MySportDab reports.

Since his arrival at Old Trafford nine months ago, Ten Hag has transformed the team perfectly.

The Dutchman was focused on ensuring a top-four finish in his first campaign as United manager.

However, with Manchester City and Arsenal, only five points ahead on the league table, United still have a chance to join the race.

Now, Ten Hag has made it clear that the Red Devils must still in contention in April.

United have not won the Premier League title since legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired a decade ago.

Asked if he believes the title is available this season, Ten Hag said: ‘We must do everything to put us in the right position by April, so that starts from our next game.

‘We must always do better than the previous game, and think about each game with the right energy and focus.

‘It means we must win on Sunday and collect the three points against Leicester. That demands a lot of high standards.’

United head into the match after a 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday at the Nou Camp.

Speaking about the game, Ten Hag admitted that it showed United are looking more like a Champions League club.

‘We are heading there but we have to fight for it,’ he added.

‘That is two options: the Europa League or the Premier League. So we know what is required. We have to take careful, and return back into the Champions League.’

Ten Hag is confident that his players will be ready to face Leicester City after the Barcelona game.

‘Yes of course, it’s about doing the right things,’ he said.

‘We have the right rhythm for many weeks and so our players are doing well, their recovery and their food is perfect so we will be ready on Sunday.

‘The players love it. They like big games and they know also we grow from such games. Today we are better players, and a better team.

Casemiro remains unavailable against Leicester on Sunday due to a three-match ban.
