Cristiano Ronaldo received a backlash after he angrily left Old Trafford before the game against Tottenham ended.

He was spotted angrily storming down the tunnel and refused to come on into the match with 90th minutes into the game.

His action has been regarded as disrespectful, with Erik Ten Hag refusing to delve into the matter, saying he will deal with it the next day.

After Ronaldo arrived at Carrington training ground today after the incident, the Dutch manager has reportedly dealt with rhe matter as he deems fit.

A club statement released by Manchester United after the incident indicated that Ronaldo will not be named in the team against Chelsea on the weekend.

He will not also train with the first team subsequently and will be forced to train alone as punishment for his reaction in the game.

After the measures taken by the new Manchester United manager due to the incident, Ronaldo has appeared sober and regretful of his actions as, according to him, “the heat of the moment got the best of him.”

He concluded his statement on a conciliatory note by admitting that he is ready to ”support his teammates” and hopes “soon they will be together again.”

It is a trying time for the Portuguese star as he continues to roll from one drama to another at Manchester United.

He has seen his game time slashed and has struggled to find his way into Erik Ten Hag’s first team

Ronaldo has managed only 2 Premier League appearances after 10 matches. He is also set to miss the Chelsea match over the weekend as punishment for his unacceptable behaviour at Old Trafford yesterday.
