Manchester United have now provided a new update about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club, MySportDab reports.

Coach Erik ten Hag has confirmed he could not be able to stop Cristiano Ronaldo from leaving Manchester United.

However, he is hopeful that Ronaldo stays at the club.

Ronaldo has not started the last two Premier League games and at the end of yesterday’s win against Southampton, the 37-year-old went over and applauded the fans.

The Portuguese has made it clear that he wants to leave the club this summer and he could have now played his last game for the Red Devils.

Him not starting for two wins this week, despite Anthony Martial not being available, suggests Ronaldo isn’t in Ten Hag’s first choice team.

There aren’t many clubs in the Champions League trying to sign him, but that could change soon.

Asked if this could be Ronaldo’s final match, Ten Hag said: “We have plans for him. So we want to keep him. That is very clear.

“Ronaldo has a year left on his contract, so United could make him stay.

However, when asked if Ronaldo leaving was up to him, he added: “I’m not sure.”

The Dutch manager also revealed that United don’t need to sign another striker this transfer window.

“I think Rashford was effective, in the first 15 mins of the second half. He understood he had to provide an option most times,” said Ten Hag.

“He created many situations. He was more involved after half time and played an important role in our attacks.

“That is what I expected from him to put more pressure on the ball.

“We have enough strikers with Cristiano, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.”
