Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong could join Manchester United in a shocking transfer this summer, MySportDab reports.
The dutch player is now 95% likely to sign for Manchester United at the end of the season from Barcelona.
ESPN claim that Manchester United have contacted his agent ahead of their summer plans to sign a new midfielder.
With Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic leaving, the Red Devils need a new quality central-midfielder for next season.
Now, According to Sports Journalist Gerard Romero, De Jong’s move to Man United is almost complete already.
He claims that Manchester United are ready to pay £69m for the 24-year-old.
Barcelona’s decision to sell the midfielder is purely based on financial difficulties at the La Liga club.
Romero shared on Twitter:
MySportDab understands that Barcelona are not impressed with his performances and won’t stop him from leaving.
They want to try and sell now to recoup the huge fee they paid Ajax back in 2019 to sign him.
A move for De Jong to Manchester United will see him work again with former coach Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
De Jong developed into first-team player at Ajax under the Dutch coach.
He was named the dutch Eredivisie player of the season and reached the Champions League semi-final in 2019.
He left Ajax for Barcelona in a £65m deal after the 2018-19 season.
