Sevilla are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani with star-forward Youssef En-Nesyri sidelined for three months due to injury.

According to a report in Fichajes, Sevilla are plotting an ambitious swoop for Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani, who has had less playing time at Old Trafford ever since the arrival of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Jules Kounde in a bid to solve their defensive woes and could use Edison Cavani to broker a deal.

The Spanish side currently sit third in the league, only one point adrift of table-toppers Real Sociedad with a game in hand, but their lack of quality attacking depth may be a detriment later.

This has forced them to dip into the winter transfer market for attacking reinforcements to provide manager Julen Lopetegui options.

Club’s Sporting director Monchi has already compiled a three-man transfer target shortlist. One of the names popping on his list is Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan attacker joined Manchester United in the summer of 2020 on a free transfer and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford, bagging ten goals and three assist from just 13 Premier League starts.

He also played a key part in Red Devils’ run to the Europa League final, contributing with six goals and three assists.

However, the 34-year-old has struggled for game-time this season following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, featuring in just over 270 minutes of football across all competitions this season.
